Homecoming Parade

Wheel Issues November 2009

This year during the OSU Homecoming Parade, October 17th, Cooper's Bicycle Center celebrated eighty years of bicycling fun! Hard to believe, but our beloved bike shop has been a successful family business from 1929 to 2009.

Those riding in the parade this year included Robert Fritsche, who drove his 1925 tractor and pulled a trailer displaying some of the antique bicycles from the collection of shop founder, Charles Cooper.

Unicycle riders, Loretta Cooper, Michael Horton, and Mark Sisson were great crowd pleasers, with children and adults smiling in admiration of the trio’s unicycling skills.
David Kincannon rode to applause on a swing bike loaned by Cooper’s Bicycle Center.

Jenny & Patrick negotiated their tandem deftly along the parade route.

Lots of riders love the Funcycles (kind of adult Bigwheels) loaned by Cooper’s for the Homecoming and Christmas parades. Riding Funcycles in this year’s homecoming parade were Becky, Emily, Jim, Jaclyn, Marina, Nicolas, Stephanie, and Zach.

Jack Bayles rode with his bicycle litter and the bicycle trailers that he sends to Zambia.
